The Associate Perspective: Nancy Giovanini

Being  IBVM associates has been a very rewarding experience for my daughters and me. We have known the Loreto sisters at SS Simon and Jude for over 30 years and have been inspired by their spirituality and dedication to their work. When we first heard of the associate program we were excited to be part of our beloved sisters.

Learning about Mary Ward has been quite edifying. Our sisters epitomize everything that she believed in and fought for. To be associated with these exceptional women and to have Mary Ward as our example is a privilege.

My own spirituality has been strengthened by my newly received knowledge of Mary Ward. I look forward to our monthly meetings, which I have described in the past as 'a little piece of heaven.' It is always nice to know that we are going into a beautiful prayerful experience as well as a learning situation. 

I feel extremely blessed to share this experience with my two daughters and my granddaughter, who has recently joined us. Not only do we all

feel the same about the associate experience,

we are very grateful for this spiritual bond within our family. Three generations sharing their love for the Lord has to be a blessing of the highest degree.
