Although
the Three Branches of the Institute were separated
by governmental and geographical factors, the
spirit of Mary Ward lives in the spirit of
her community. Over the years, the desire for
reunion has remained in the hearts and minds
of the sisters.
On September 16, 2003, the reunion of the Irish and North American Branches
became a reality, forming the new Loreto/Loretto Branch.
Mary
Wright, IBVM, Superior General of the Irish
Branch and Maria Bierer, IBVM, Superior General
of the North American Branch, co-signed the
official Reunion document.
This joyous occasion, prompted celebrations
of sisters, families, and friends in Toronto,
Canada, the motherhouse of the North American
Branch, and in every province around the world
